Mediation Fees
- The fee for a full-day mediation, up to 2 hours of preparation and 8 hours of session is $1,900 per party.
- The fee for a half-day mediation, up to 1 hour of preparation and 4 hours of session is $950 per party. If a half-day mediation extends beyond 2 additional hours, then it will be billed as a full-day mediation.
- For three-party mediations the per-party fee will be $1600 per full day and $800 per half day. Other multi-party mediation assignments will be accordingly customized.
- Other additional time is billed at $190 per hour per party, in quarter-hour increments.
- A half-day mediation that continues more than an additional two hours will be considered a full-day mediation.
Billing Matters
- You will be billed immediately following the mediation session. The billing will include any ADDITIONAL charges in case we find the mediation has exceeded the predicted time allotment.
- Since you have the predictability of the flat fee, we will expect you’ll be prepared to make full payment within FIVE DAYS of the session. You can make payments by following the payment instructions on the invoice.
- A mediation involving any party NOT represented by a lawyer will be paid IN FULL and IN ADVANCE of the mediation session.
LAWYERS: My business relationship is with the lawyers who enlist me to conduct the mediation, and not with their clients, whom I did not select and do not know. While I know it is convenient to ask your client to make payment directly to this office, and that is quite fine with me, it is the lawyer to whom I look for timely payment, and not your client or insurer.
Cancellation Policy: If the mediation session is canceled or rescheduled more than five (5) court days prior to the scheduled session, there is no cancellation fee. Mediation sessions canceled or rescheduled less than 5 court days prior to the scheduled session will be charged $1000, to be divided between the parties as you see fit. Please keep in mind, my cancellation policy is meant to fairly compensate my office for reserving the time scheduled for this mediation which typically cannot be filled in less than 5 court days.
